Superman #18 Complimentary Copy (DC, 1942) Condition: VF. A rare complimentary copy of an early Superman issue with an equally rare Superman pinback button still affixed to the front cover. When Sotheby’s offered this same copy in 1995, they listed it as the only known copy in existence, and it is the only copy we’ve seen in the two decades that Heritage has auction comics. Inside, the Man of Steel’s arch foe Lex Luthor makes an appearance, and there’s also a half-page ad for Wonder Woman #1. The war bonds cover by Fred Ray. John Sikela art.
