Showcasing most of the major French or Belgian comics talents of its day the magazine introduced major series such as Astérix le Gaulois, Blueberry, Achille Talon, and Valérian et Laureline. www.afnews.info segnala: Paul Gravett (born 29 October, UK) is a London-based freelance journalist, curator, lecturer, writer and broadcaster, who has worked in comics publishing and promotion since 1981.

He and Peter Stanbury created “Escape Magazine” (1983–1989), an anthology magazine featuring alternative comics creators. It was an important focal point for 1980s UK comics.

During that period, they also published “Violent Cases” by Neil Gaiman and Dave McKean (1987), three volumes of Eddie Campbell’s “Alec” (1984–1986), and “London’s Dark” by James Robinson and Paul Johnson (1988).

His recent books include “Comics Art” (Tate Publishing, 2013; Yale University Press, 2014) and “Comics Unmasked: Art and Anarchy in the UK” with John Harris Dunning (The British Library, 2014).
